M$ Office 2003 on Wine
Hi all!
I am really tired of repairing my parent's PC all the time (viruses, malware, etc), so I decided to install linux on their machine. But I want to put M$ Office 2003 there too (PC is mainly for documents), maybe they can switch to OOo in some time.
So I have a question: have you tried running M$ Office 2003 with Wine? Was it working good?

I am running Office 2007 under Crossover (the commercial version of WINE) So far, it runs perfectly. Office 2003 should also be fine.
OpenOffice is really quite good now with MSOffice docs. I have my system setup so that the default is always OOo.

hey , I have used office 2003 in my machine on Wine. Without any issues. I only faced issue with Outlook . But i didn't try to fix it, because i use thunderbird. and I am sure that it can be fixed. ( this is an year old story ) . Now i use either Open office . there are no much formatting issues with that . Try it . Its good.
Thanks
Peeths
