Login Problem


Hi all,

I am using suse linux 10.1. For the past 2 days i am facing a different problem. In my pc i can,t able to login as root in runlevel5.
It ask for username password . After i gave that after 2 or 3 seconds it come back to the same login screen.


When i use the startx from runlevel 3 i get the following error.

you shouldn't run x as root, bad idea, try running x as a normal user

Thats correct I have to start x as a user and if i need i will use su
But i wnat to know the solution for this problem.
If supppose for the normal users if this problem come means at that time i should not get struckup so could you able to gave any solutions.
