live cd going online

I downloaded a copy of dreamlinux 2 (works edition) and its al fine, apart from it won't go online, I was wondering whether that was only because it was in the live cd mode, not installed on my harddrive. the dhcp i presume isnt working at all, and i tried on another computer on another network and it did that same.

That might be a problem with DreamLInux. I use Knoppix and Kanotix, and both connect via dhcp without any problems.

I've been playing with a mates laptop lately (doing the Windows reformat thing) and none of the live CDs start the network on it automatically. Didn't bother to look into why but this works fine:
