LibreOffice - German Spellcheck

Hey guys!
I've just installed Debian 7.3 from the live CD and later installed myspell-de-de but LibreOffice won't recognize wrong spelled German words.

What packages should I install?

Three things are needed.
1. the dictionary
2. the spell-checker: hunspell
3. setting LibreOffice to use German as the default text language.

If LO just says "spell-checking complete" when it hasn't actually done anything, then you probably lack the actual spellchecker.

how-to-install-the-libre-office-spell-check-in-different-languages/
The instructions are for Libreoffice on Ubuntu, but should also work for Debian.

On further investigation at the Debian user forum, one user said that after installing myspell-de, it didn't work until he rebooted. It may work by restarting the x-server: ctrl-alt-backspace in a terminal, then log in (saves having to reboot).
