LDAP user cannot login with GUI desktop
 

I am running a Centos 5 client against a Centos5 samba/ldap pdc. I have my home directory mapped via nfs, currently I have /home mounted manually as I haven't gotten automount to work yet. I can correctly authenticate from my client, see my home directories, and from a shell on the client I can su to my user account with no problems. When I try to login via the gui (xsession) I receive the following error:

"User's $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored. This prevents the default session and language from being saved. File should be owned by the user and have 644 permissions. User's $HOME directory must be owned by user and not writable by other users."

My .xsession-errors reads as follows:

I have checked permissions and they seem to be correct, and everything appears to be working correctly for shell based logins. Anyone had to deal with this or have an idea of how to troubleshoot the issue? Thanks in advance.
