Label merge prints field names, not data

I have an OpenOffice.org (native format) data base containing a list of club members. I also have a query for a selected mailing. I tried to do a merge to avery labels. I set up the connection to the query, selected the fields and label etc. Then I printed a test sheet of just the first page. Instead of printing the data the field names printed. I went over the wizard several times but can't see what I am doing wrong. I must be doing something wrong, but what?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried the advice in OO help? Search term labels;from databases. Possibly this section:
(snip)
12.On the Table Data bar, click the Data to Fields icon.
13.You can then save and/or print the label document.

Thank You, problem solved

Thanks for your reply. My print label problem has been solved. Turns out I was not clicking on the new document button. I did not understand that I needed to create a new document. I also did not know how to preview the labels, but your tip along with another tip solved that problem as well.

Thanks again
