Konqueror and MP3 files

First, I'm a banjo player. Second, I pondering using Konqueror as my web browser.

When I visit the site

http://zeppmusic.com/MP3/

there are many mp3 files I'd like to listen to. When I click on them (as in Firefox), a new window opens . . . then nothing!

But if I right click, go to "Open With," and select KPlayer or MPlayer, it works fine. The Konqueror setup seems to have found all my mozilla plugins . . .

Any clues?

Ken

I think you are missing the necessary plugin to play .mp3 from the web. I tried this on my system ( same site ) it works in Firefox, but not in Konqueror.

Firefox has an mplayer plugin and it works.

What I can not help with is where to get a plugin that will play .mp3's from the web. I did some searching, but no solution for Konqueror. I'm running KDE 4.4.3, and Konq comes with KDE. This is on a 64 bit system.

I looked at http://konqueror.kde.org but didn't find a solution.

Konqueror can use the same plugins as Firefox.

Make sure you have these installed:
konqueror-nsplugins - Netscape plugin support for Konqueror
konq-plugins - plugins for Konqueror, the KDE file/web/document browser

I have konq-plugins installed, but Fedora 13 doesn't seem to have konqueror-nsplugins in the mainstream repos.

The plugins information tab seems to be pointing to the various mozilla directories, so I assume Konqueror has access to those files.

Two notes: I'm running Fedora 13, 64 Bit and, I did find that this is only an issue if I try to open the MP3 in another tab. If I just (left) click on it, it opens a "Save/Open" dialogue box.
