Question Klipper Plasma vs standard Klipper

I'm running LinuxMint Sarah with the current (?) version of KDE. A few weeks back, I kept seeing two "Klippers" in my bottom panel. One was visibly using the Plasma theme, and the other looked (and performed) like the Klipper I remembered from Trinity DE.

The "Klipper Plasma," I'll call it, is slower on my machine (Dell Inspiron 1720, 2GB RAM, by design integrated video). I'd like to have Klipper the way the second Klipper ran in those double-instance 'instances,' as it seemed to be faster and more responsive, and didn't slide me into the Devices menu with the slightest slip of a mouse pointer (annoying).

Is there any way, in KDE or in Klipper itself, to "unwrap" Klipper from the Plasma theme?

Carver
