KDE/Slackware font size issues at logon

Hi,

This is my first post. I'm hope this is the correct forum. I've searched the forum, but I couldn't find anything to help.

My login screen on Slackware 12 with KDE has a huge font and login box. If I login as root, the screen size is normal and usable. If I login as any other user, the large font/screen resolution does not change, rendering the machine unusable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
J

I just found my ~/.kde/share/config/startupconfig had DPI set to 96 for root but set to 0 for other users and new users I create. When I set the DPI to 96 in other user's startupconfig, everything looked good. I assume I need to set the DPI to 96 in my xorg.conf to prevent the huge login screen.

The value in the startupconfig was kcmfonts_general_forcefontdpi="0".

The Slackware forum here at Linuxquestions might be the best place to ask this question as I know there have been several threads over the years regarding fonts used in Slackware.
