KDE 4.8 haunted launchers

Running Slackware -current and AlienBOB's compilation of KDE 4.8. KDE's panel insists on putting a couple of tiny Konqueror launchers all the time I log-in. The same thing happens in a Gentoo VM in Qemu. I've lost count how many times I've removed those pesky icons, but they keep showing up again. Where can I permanently disable them?

Those launchers are normally part of Task Manager (as in "Show a launcher when not running") - I would try deleting task manager from the panel and adding a new one; then, if that did not work, I'd delete the panel itself and add a new clean one (not 'default' one).

It's not great advice, I know, but starting with a clean panel did solve issues form me and others before.

Thanks klearview, removing the task manager and adding a new one solved the problem for me.

You can also modify the default layout here:
/usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/layout-templates/org.kde.plasma-desktop.defaultPanel/contents/layout.js

Then you can add the default panel without those lauchers.

A bit late, but. Another method:

This one worked for me.
