KDE 3.5 on FC6

Here is my issue. I would prefer using KDE but I want it to look how I want. Of course. So I went to kde-look.org and downloaded some Window Borders, but they have extensions like .emerald and so on. Now, in Gnome it's generally easy to install a theme by merely dragging and dropping. But my problem with KDE is that the drag&drop method doesn't really work, and when I try the "install theme" button under Control Panel (which by the way there is no 'install' for window borders') I can't find the theme I downloaded for the window border. So, all I really want to change is the window border. Could anyone please explain to me how to do that?

Emerald themes are not really KDE themes, they are themes for Beryl, the 3d accelerated desktop. Most KDE styles are installed using "./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` && make && make install". Icons and thememanager themes are installed from the KDE control center.
