KDE 3.5 on FC6 - Theme installation problems.

Here is my issue. I would prefer using KDE but I want it to look how I want. Of course. So I went to kde-look.org and downloaded some Window Borders, but they have extensions like .emerald and so on. Now, in Gnome it's generally easy to install a theme by merely dragging and dropping. But my problem with KDE is that the drag&drop method doesn't really work, and when I try the "install theme" button under Control Panel (which by the way there is no 'install' for window borders') I can't find the theme I downloaded for the window border. So, all I really want to change is the window border. Could anyone please explain to me how to do that?

... KDM Theme Manager

... if you only have theme components, perhaps you need to create a new theme?

... this mini-tutorial will help you refine your question

There is a "theme manager" separate download for KDE 3.2, and a theme manager in KDE 3.3 ["K" icon on taskbar, settings, control center]. BUT the theme manager does very little at this point. It only installs themes with a .kth extension, and I've found only ONE theme with that extension, so most themes can probably also be installed by source code(a bit advanced NOT TOO HARD)
Looks like theming in KDE is still a bit of a pain.

Emerald themes are not really KDE themes, they are themes for Beryl, the 3d accelerated desktop. Most KDE styles are installed using "./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` && make && make install". Icons and thememanager themes are installed from the KDE control center.
