KDE => 4.9.x CLI Command Line?

I've written a python program that connects to a web service and fetches random images based on some defined criteria. I'm working on the python subprocess.Popen() logic and I'm having a heck of a time findng a CLI command to change the wallpaper that the program can call in KDE 4.9.

What's the deal here. Please tell me this is still possible in KDE? The other desktops were no problem (gnome, xfce, enlightenment, etc)

After some research it doesn't appear KDE exposes any obvious command line or API to programmatically set wallpaper; which is really bizarre. What a shame; KDE 4 is such a great desktop but if management and branding tasks can't be automated then it's not viable for business customers.

Back to Gnome we go.

According to this, it appears that a patch to add dbus support is in the pipeline. So perhaps soon.

Thanks for the reply. Yea, I ended up stumbling on this a few days ago and it confirmed that this wasn't possible. KDE Plasma is an excellent desktop but it's not viable (for my uses) without this feature. I'll check back on KDE in a year or so and see if they've resolved this issue.
