And what do you mean by "how to get KDE up and running again"?? You should be able to log out/reboot, and select KDE as your desktop session at the next login. If that doesn't work, go into your home directory through Gnome/whatever other session you can get to work, and remove the $HOME/.kde (or .kde4) directory.
You don't say what Linux version/distro you're using, what version of KDE, or what specific problem, other than "KDE crashed". More information would help.
