kcmshell4 is a configuration tool, not the KDE shell.

KDE & Gnome try to have everything. I have to suffer one or the other at times, but I never try what you suggest - a gnome program under kde, or vice versa. Slackware offered XFCE as a "Low cholesterol Window Manager," and I was instantly sold. |

Lest anyone be tempted top replicate my half-assed solution to getting k3b running, I recently tried to burn audio discs, and to put it mildly, they didn't work.
It couldn't find an index - despite all the correct procedures being used, and all the correct looking things happening :-((. Two wasted Lightscribe CDRs later, I made off to an older box with 13.37 still running and that burned the cd from the same files flawlessly. That's a pain, because that box has the lightscribe cdrom, which slows me down, but such is life. EDIT: Just to mention, data CDs went fine. |
