Join 2 .flv files?

Hey Guys

Does anyone know how I can go about merging 2 separate .flv files into the one file?

Thanks for any help!

I haven't tried this on .flv files, but often this will work for video files. Enter this into a terminal window (assuming you are in the directory where the two files live):

Code:

cat file2 >> file1
It's very important that you use two > signs, otherwise file2 will simply overwrite the data in file1.

Hey, so I used ffmpeg and avimerge to covert and join the 2 files. Now the thing is that my 2 videos have different frame rates. the first one has a frane rate of 15fps, and i dont know the second videos frame rate, but it is more than 20. because the first video is a slower frame rate, when i join the two, the second videos frame rate is slowed to the first videos frame rate. this is not what i want. i would rather that the first video changes its frame rate to match the second video, as it is a much shorter clip, and the audio going out of sync would be much less noticeable.

1. is there any program that will tell me the properties of a video clip, including its frame rate?

2. is it possible to have....a variable fps? i mean, have teh video have a frame rate of 15 fps for the first 10 seconds, and then change frame rate to about 25fps after?

3. if 2 is not possible, mis there any way to change a videos frame rate? even if this will cause the audio to go out of sync?

I post the solution because, LinuxQuestions search engine (Google too) put this in results:

1.- "man ffmpeg" Tell you all the options, you can set the output framerate.

2.- You can't have more than one FPS rate in a single file.

This is how you join:

mencoder -forceidx -of lavf -oac copy -ovc copy -o output.flv clip1.flv clip2.flv clip3.flv
