Unhappy Issues with KDE 3.5 (kded and keyboard response)

I've been having a couple of issues with my kde desktop environment. The first problem that I've encountered is with kded, at one point my computer was running extremely slow. So I ran the top command and it displayed kded using on average 101% of my CPU. I killed kded, then restarted my system to ensure that nothing unexpected would happen when running applications (didn't know what kded was for). Another issue I've been having is that for some reason when I press a key on my keyboard, it will continue to register that key, even after releasing it. This has become a major problem when doing my Video Game Programming. If anybody has any ideas on how to fix either of these issues please let me know.

System Specs: (both mouse and keyboard are picked up by one receiver, though problem occured even with previous non-cordless keyboard).

Keyboard: Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110
Mouse: Logitech Cordelss Optical Mouse

One possible cause is hardware. You may have one or more sticky contacts in your keyboard. If so then try cleaning the contact.

That shouldn't be a problem as it's a bran new keyboard. Plus it does it for every key, but only occasionally. It seems to happen more often when I'm using Kate, but it does occasionally (though not as often) while browsing the web, or doing anything else for that matter. One thing that might help me figure things out a bit is to know what exactly kded does.

As for your another problem in KDE Control Center>Pheripherals>Keyboard you can disable keyboard repeat, also under Country/Region & Languages you have some interestring options to check out.For your first problem maybe solution is to delete Kat like this: urpme kat, because there was some bugs reported with it.I guess you are using old version of KDE,why don't you upgrade, then you wouldn't have this problem.
