Isolating KDE 3 and KDE 4 themes
 
Hello

So I noticed something odd today. I run Ubuntu right, with GNOME 2, KDE 4 and Trinity (KDE 3.5) Well while using Trinity, I find certain.. overlaps of theming seems to be occurring in which KDE 4 theme dialog boxes pop up.

Has anyone had this happen? Is there a way to isolate Trinity from this?

Well, there must be, even if I don't know exactly what it is. Back when kde3 and kde4 were both supported options for openSUSE, they maintained separate set-ups for the two with the kde3 one being .kde and the kde4 one being .kde4.

Now, how difficult it is to configure kde4 to use .kde4 for its settings, I don't know. Clearly not impossible, but whether it is an environment variable or a build-time option, I don't know. Maybe, trinity gives you extra options, I don't know that either. I'm really not doing as well as you might like, am I?

Hi

So I found out that the issue was an add on Ubuntu does to make KDE 4 themes and GNOME things look similar. I removed it and now everything seems to be working properly.
