is it possible to convert avi files to BUP files?
Hi,
i was just wondering, is it possible to convert .avi files to .BUP files? ( i think that's what the DVD video files are called.) thank you for any info on this. :) //Santiago |
well BUP files are BackUP files, not the main video data, which is a VOB (Video OBject) files coupled with IFO (InFOrmation) files.
to convert video files to a full playable DVD try these guides... http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...dia/AVI_to_DVD http://www.linux.com/articles/53702 |
thanks for your reply.
so there's no way of using K3B in some way to just convert into .vob files and then burn it as a dvd? //S |
and a weird question:
how large is the m2v file from a 695mb avi? cos i've been decoding now for well over 12 hrs, and the m2v file just won't stop growing. |
the m2v has, afaik, a linear size compared to length of the video. you can't tell how big it should be comapred to an avi. as the avi, assuming it's actually divx, could be compressed to all sorts of qualities... a full length film would generally be about 4gb on the dvd in it's finished state, for bout a 2 hour flick.

hmmm...
so a 64 min movie would be ~ 2.1GB and it took about 12 hrs to get to 800mb so i'd have to leave the program running for over 24hrs? Does that seem about right? are there any quicker ways? |
