Installing Microsoft Office 2007 error

Hi guys, Im currently running Mandriva 2010 PowerPack and I have not been able to install Microsoft Office 2007. I'm running wine version 1.1.32

I keep getting an error when I click in the setup file.

Here is some additional info I see when I tried to access the setup file via terminal.

[ shorttech@localhost cdrom]$ wine Setup.exe

You may want to put unhide in the fstab entry for your optical drive - and make sure the fake windows drives are set up in Wine. Otherwise it is reported to just work. don't expect to be able to register.

Office 2007 installer in Wine:

I understand that some people must have access to MS-only formats (restricted bits of docx etc) mandated by something like work. Otherwise it is strongly urged not to use this program or its file formats if you possibly avoid it.

Like the user said above, make sure the fake window drives are set up in wine. That should resolve your issue! Hope that helps..

You might also want to look at CrossOver. this is the commercial (paid) version of WINE, and is more user-friendly. They officially support many things including MSoffice and they have a free trial period.

openoffice 3.2 is better choice. but it faces problem with *.docx files.
I am successfully using MSoffice2007 in my openSuSE. It is not as fast as in windows. but not slow.

see this link --> how i installed MSOffice 2007
