Install Linux 2.6


hi Linux members,
I am totly new on Linux OS and I would like to install it on new computer.
Please write me or send a link to good instructions or at least a website from where I could download last Linux OS and install it.

If you want to compile a new kernel, download the latest source code from www.kernel.org. If you are looking for a Linux distribution, look at LQ iso or distrowatch.com.

Maybe I didn't say it right, I would like to recieved an instructions how to install Linux OS for developing and debugging embedded linux applications.

1) You send me a link to kernel linux OS, but how should I uses it.

2) What is the second link could please explain it more

If you want to install the OS there's lots of different distributions that will give you different initial setups. distowatch.com is a good resource to find out about about the distributions. The details for installation will vary depending on what distro you pick to use, but the general process will be to burn the image files (such as what's found at the 2nd link colucix gave you) to a CD and install off that.
