Hi, I need to import bookmarks from my hard drive backup to Firefox, but don't know how, after several attempts. How's it done?

My firefox bookmarks are here:
/home/tred/.mozilla/firefox/RANDOM_STRING.default/bookmarks.html
Close firefox.
Then replace that file with your old bookmarks.html file
Then restart firefox.

That's where they are if you use Firefox 2. However Firefox 3 keeps them in a file called places.sqlite

Well, in Firefox you have simply to open the Bookmarks manager from menu Bookmarks --> Organize bookmarks. From the menu File chose Import and you will have the option to import bookmarks from your old bookmarks.html. That's it.
