I need help with gnome 2 osd notifications

I'm running linuxmint 11 katya with gnome 2. I'm trying to figure out what package/app controls the pop up notification messages on the desktop that all of the different apps use. It's the one with the small widget thats semi transparent and pops up in the top right corner to tell you when a new song is playing or if you are connected to your network etc. I just want to know which file is the configuration file and what app controls it.

I think the package is notify-osd.

What are you trying to control?

Have a google for "Notify OSD Configuration" ... the built-in abilities to customise it are limited, but there are some tools you can install to help.
