I can not login to my root account in ubuntu 9.10

Hi forum,

What's happened i don't know. I am not able to switch root

account. when i use su - root command to switch normal user to

root account it give following error.

setgid: Operation not permitted

su doesn't work in ubuntu.

A short answer man sudo and you will find out how to become root
My way sudo su enter
password enter
