How to Stop XFCE Thunar from showing hidden files first
 

almost every other file manager, when you tell it to show hidden files, shows them after non-hidden files, except Thunar. i have tried and tried, searched and searched for a way but can't find one. is there anything that can be changed so that it does not show hidden files first?

in other words, show files like this
File 1
File 2
File 3
.hidden file 1
.hidden file 2

instead of like this
.hidden file 1
.hidden file 2
File 1
File 2
File 3

Right-click empty space between files => Sort...
what are the options?
that's what you got, i don't think there's more.

fwiw, it's not only thunar.
i think it's the logic of sorting; numbers, punctuation etc. are sorted before letters.

When you sort by filename the sort is by ASCII value order?

The sort is according to the rules for your locale. Run the "locale" command with no arguments to see what is in effect. You can set LC_COLLATE to a different rule set ("LC_COLLATE=C" yields the basic ASCII sort), but I don't know of any rule set that would place the dotfiles last.

This question has been asked in various places and there doesn't seem to be a solution. I'd just run it with hidden files hidden and use Ctrl-h when I need them.
