How to Play .rm Files in Amarok

I am using Mandriva 2007 and have Real Player 10 installed. I can play .rm files in Real Player but not in Amarok (my favorite). How can I play .rm files in Amarok?

Open your Control Centre

go to KDE Components

select File Associations

find vnd.rn-realaudio

on the upper right under file patterns click add and put *.rm then click ok.

look under Application Preference Order and make sure Amarok is in the list (if not add it) and make sure it is at the top of the list.

I added the *.rm type as you instructed but it didn't work. When I try to play a .rm file in Amarok, it gives the following two error messages:

Eror Loading Media

There is no available decoder.

file:///home/ehsanullahjan/Music/apki-kashish.rm

A problem occured while loading a library or decoder.

xine parameters: cook.so

In the file associations, other than the vnd.rn-realaudio type, there is also a type called x-real-audio which is associated with Movie Player and Real Player and has the same extensions as vnd.rn-realaudio. I added Amarok to this list as well but no luck.

I guess it has to do with some plugin. May be I will have to register the plugin responsible for playing real audio files in Amarok. Any ideas?
