how to log into Xwindows or GNOME

Hi all,
I am a new user to Linux.I think i am missing a lot of information which i can gather from learning Linux..please help me with this seemingly easy problem.

I installed Slackware Linux 13.1 using full install option. So i suppose i have KDE, GNOME and X as desktop environments. While booting, i get a command prompt. After i type "startx", KDE comes up.But how do i switch/login to other environments like X and GNOME?
Thanks
Vinayan

You don't have GNOME.
If you would like to install it go to:
http://gnomeslackbuild.org/ and follow the instructions.

You certainly do not have GNOME installed.

If you want the GNOME desktop, I would suggest that you check this out:

Furthermore, the slackbook is a good resource.
