How to add a file to an existing playlist in VLC

Hello everybody,

My favorite player is VLC. The current version I am using is "VLC version 3.0.0-rc2 Vetinari". My linux distro is Fedora 27 and desktop environment is LXDE. I am trying to figure out how to add a file (or the current playing file) to an already existing playlist. For example, say, I have a playlist called favorites.xspf in which there are already some files added. I browse some audio or video files on my computer and want to add another one to that playlist. How do I accomplish that in GUI (not on command line)? I don't see an option when I right-click the file. Thanks in advance.

Just open the playlist you want to add said file to and then the file you wish to add to it, then save the playlist. Done.

that's very difficult. what if you have 100 files on the current playlist (you opened all files in a folder) and you want to add one of them to favorites?

It's not "very difficult", why not just hold down the CTRL key, click on the first file you wish to add and then at the last file you wish to add, hold down the SHIFT key and click on it?

As this should automatically select all files in-between, easy peasy, japanese!

"Keyboard shortcuts" are one of your best friends.

I guess I wasn't clear enough.
