How do I reset desktop settings in GNOME?

It is pretty trivial to reset the desktop settings in KDE just rename the .kde dot file to something else. My question is, if you want to reset the desktop settings in GNOME, is there a similar way to do it?

You have to rename the various ~/.gnome* directories and possibly ~/.gtkrc* (if its a theme related problem).

If you wanted to reset everything, wouldn't you just delete the whole ~/.gnome directory? When you start GNOME again it will just think your a new GNOME user.
