How do I remove the Shortcut / Link Emblems from Nautilus Preview?

I don't like how nautilus puts shortcut / link arrow emblems / icons on soft linked files. How do I remove or change them?

The reason that this particularly bothers me is that I just wrote a script that moves all of my photos into a permanent storage directory in chronolgical order but leaves symlinks in place of the folders where the used to be (and thus I can copy the symlinks and put some pictures into multiple folders / albums) but now I have to look at hundreds of arrows in the upper right-hand corner of hundreds of photos.
