how do i reinstall KDE....or how do I fix crach

I recently had to do a hard turn-off of my linux box. I am running Kubuntu feisty and am running the latest stable version of KDE. When i booted into Kubuntu again, X-windows threw errors and would not run. I assume it is KDE because I can get to the GUI login screen, however, when I log in, it throws the errors and gives me a blank screen. Here are all the warnings and errors from the "var/log/Xorg.0.log" file:

Quote:
EE) RADEON(0): [agp] Could not bind
(EE) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP failed to initialize. Siabling the DRI.

(EE) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable

(EE) xf860OpenSerial: Cannot ope device /dev/input/wacom
No such file or directory.
Error opening /dev/input/wacom : success
[^^ above repeated 3 times in a row]

(WW) The directory "/usr/share/fonts/X11/crillic" does not exist.
entry deleted from font path.

(WW) RADEON: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found

(WW) RADEON: Failed to detect secondary monitor, MergedFB/Clone mode disabled

(WW) RADEON(0): Direct rendering disabled
If there is an easier way to fix this than to reinstall KDE please let me know, otherwise how do I reinstall KDE command-line wise. I'd prefer to us apt-get, however, I do not know what packages to request. Please, any help would be grateful, I don't want to lose all my files or have to reinstall everything again.

Thanks in advance

DAN

There's no need to reinstall the whole system, this link may help: http://linuxfud.wordpress.com/2007/0...re-installing/

how do i reinstall KDE

I need to uninstall kde and than install it again. I am running Kubuntu. It uses apt-get as package manager, so all I need to know is what packages to remove and than install again.

This is Linux, not Microsoft Windows. You don't necessarily have to reinstall things as may be the case in windows.

What is the problem that makes you think you need to reinstall Kde?

i have already posted the problem here.

No reply was worth while and I think it may just be easier to reinstall kde. I know this is not Windows, however, from evaluating the responses i have gotten here an other linux forums, i just want to reinstall kde. No one has yet to give me a very worthwhile response. It has been over a month since the problem happened and I just want to get my desktop back up and running.

Thank you for your useless response to my question.
