(SOLVED) Help - Unable to switch between virtual consoles from X

Hi,

Well I am unable to switch between virtual consoles by pressing ctrl+alt+f1/2/3/4/5/6/7.

When the keys are pressed nothing happens. The screen is just as it is!

I have checked the keys and all of them are working fine. I can use them in different apps, perfectly fine.

Distro - Archlinnux with KDE 4.2.2.

I tried adding the code: "DontVTSwitch" "false" in xorg.conf in server flag section but to no avail

Also I didnt modify any system file. Help!

Did you restart the X-server after adding that flag?

Are there any errors in your xorg.log file? Maybe something related to hosing the keymap?

Nope, nothing seems unusual in the log file.

Strange thing is that it has happened before Xorg 1.6(in 1.5) but after sometime it would start to work fine. Now after upgrading to Xorg 1.6.1 it just wont let me switch virtual consoles! Feels awful w/o consoles. I think it may be a bug within arch itself!!

Ok The problem is solved. It was with HAAL keyboard driver. So i replaced HAL driver by original Archbase(without X driver) and all is fine now.
