Help! Blank White Screen!

When I try to login to kde or gnome I just get a blank white screen. I am able to boot into the console. What should I do? I can't think of anything that I was doing beforehand that could've caused this. I'm using mandriva linux 2007.1 spring. The login screen appears. I login. I get the kde or gnome startup screen with a white background. I also get the beryl startup logo. Then when it finishes loading the loading icons go away and I'm just left with a white screen.

Thanks for the help.

I think beryl might be messing it up since now it is when the beryl logo appears that the screen goes white and I was messing around with some configurations in beryl last time I used my desktop. How can I disable/remove beryl from the console?
