GTK+ in KDE

Hi.
I recently installed Kubuntu on one of my machines to test out KDE4. The first release of KDE4 did not work all that great, so I gave it some time to grow and must say that the experience has changed a lot.

I do however have one small issue.
I don't think that KDE is working as good with GTK+ programs as Gnome does with QT.

Example 1: Drag&drop from QT to GTK does not always work.

Example 2: If I connect to an ftp, samba share or something else with Dolphin and try to open a file in let's say gedit, a have to re-enter the login information for the server I am connected to. The login information is not parsed as it is if I open it in Kate.

Example 3: If I try to run a GUI program from a GTK+ terminal using sudo, I get a "cannot open display: :0.0

I have a package installed that makes sure to theme my GTK programs to look like my QT programs. Am I missing a similar package to make the two tool kits work better together or is it not possible to make it better than it already is? I just don't remember any time where I have had this problem using QT in Gnome. Perhaps the problem is KWin?

Hi, 1) never ran into that.
2)thats normal because KDE uses kioslaves for network transparency, whereas GNOME uses GVFS if I remember correctly.
3)thats because you're trying to run it as root, who doesn't own a display. If you start the app without sudo, it will work. At least this is my theory.

Ok. And there are no packages that tranfers information from the one to the other?

If I run KDE programs using sudo, it works find. And I don't remember ever having problems running KDE programs using sudo in Gnome.
