Grub Loading, Please Wait Error 18

Hi All

I am trying to load a boxed version Suse 10.1 on my backup machine. During installation after the first cd on the reboot i get a message"Grub Loading Stage 1.5"
"Grub Loading, Please Wait Error 18."

I have loaded without problem on Dell inspiron 11, Dells Demension 2400 and a Dell Demention 1100 all run great. I am now trying to load on a machine used only for backup and storeage of data. Windows Xp home is on. The spec is Pentium 3, 2x 80gb hard drives, cdrw, 512ram. Hope someone can help as this machine has of historical data.

Check the BIOS to be certain it correctly reports the size of the hard drive. At the right end of the line which gives cylinders, heads, and sectors, there is a field to change from NORMAL to LBA.
