Graphical glitches with AIGLX and XGL (Kororaa)

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
First off, I doubt the problem has anything to do with the actual distro itself, but if you guys feel its absolutely neccesary to test it on a different distro, I will.

...Also, I'm kind of newbish at Linux... I know how to do simple installs on programs and drivers, and thats it.

I downloaded the Live CD from Kororaa.org, which comes pre-loaded with XGL and AIGLX, and I'm very pleased with everything on it so far, except for the graphical glitches. The glitches are stuff like square trails following the mouse cursor, highlight box trails, partially highlighted buttons (doesn't matter if cursor is hovering over them), and I can't change the monitor size without the whole screen going white. None of this stuff happens if I don't have AIGLX or XGL enabled.

I've also searched for anybody else with this problem, in vain.

So is anybody familiar with this issue?

Graphics Card: ATI Raedon X700 Pro
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3700+ (2.2ghz)
RAM: 1gb

Hey,

Which version are you using? 0.2 has the FGLRX drivers, but 0.3 only has the open source drivers. It sounds to me like it's just an issue with a driver that's not entirely compatible with your card.

A driver update would probably fix the problem.

Cheers,
Chris

I'm gonna format my computer tonight, and try installing the FGLRX drivers. I'll tell ya how it goes at around midnight. Thanks!

EDIT: Alright, I installed the official ATI package... and after I did that and restarted, the whole display just goes white once I log in to my account. Is there something wrong with my graphics card or am I doing something wrong?

Right now I'm running Kororaa without AIGLX or XGL, and as I said, everything is running perfectly like this. It would be nice to have a little eye candy though.
