Google Earth won't start on Suse 10.3

I am running Suse 10.3 with a ATI video card. When I start Google Earth ver. 4. the white box for Google Earth comes up for a few seconds then X windows ends and I have to run startx to get back to the KDE desktop. I don't know where to look for a log file to see what went wrong.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you downloaded Google Earth from the Google website or installed it using YaST?

I downloaded ver. 4 from the Google web site and ran it from the command line. I tried to run ver 5 with YaST but it wouldn't complete and YaST would just close during the install. I then ran it from the command line as well.

It may be that you are missing some dependencies needed to run Google Earth properly, perhaps related to Qt?
