Google Earth 4.0.1693 Segfaults

I'm trying to run Google Earth on an x86_64 installation of FC5. It installs fine, but when I run it, I get this:

Code:

Google Earth has caught signal 11.

Another crash happened while handling crash!

I'm guessing "handling crash" would be the program trying to create a crash log in ~/.googleearth , but I guess it wasn't able to, since there aren't any there. I'm sure it's not my hardware, specifically, because I've run it before (on FC3 and Knoppix, I think?) on the same computer. Even so, here's some information that might be helpful:

Linux 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5 #1 SMP Tue Mar 14 15:48:20 EST 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux
ATI Radeon 7000 graphics card (with the standard DRI drivers)
Celeron D Processor
256 MB something-or-other RAM

I've tried it in a few different window managers (Gnome, Window Maker, Ion). I don't know how to even try to figure out what's wrong, though, since I don't have any logs to go by. Any ideas?

I'd imagine this is why it's called "Beta 4, unstable."
Working before isn't a prerequisite for working always.

Well, if I had a choice, I'd install version 3, but this "unstable" version is the only one I can install for linux (thanks a ton, Google). Do you have any ideas on how I can actually troubleshoot this?

You can wait for beta 5, or the next stable. Beta means beta. Unless you work for google your not going to see why it's crashing.

I've seen crash logs from other people show up in ~/.googleearth; I guess I'm just extra unlucky in that respect. Oh well. :(
