Gnome3 - gnome-contacts app - where do I find the database
Hi everybody,
yesterday I've installed Gnome-Contacts as I plan to ditch Google Contacts as my primary address book.
Although Gnome-Contacts still lacks a lot of features, it is already usable. My only question is, how can I add my contacts to my backup script? Does anyone Gnome-Contacts stored the imported contact information?
You don't have to actually install and use Evolution, just some of the libraries. I'm not sure most people care about terminal-based addressbooks. It should be easy enough to write something, using a simple database, but most people want more functionality. I use Google contacts, because it's easy, and cross-platform. I do understand that some people don't trust Google or any other entity with their data, but that's up to them.
Unfortunately Google & Evolution (which I use) do not work that seamlessly together as advertised. Synchronizing even worked better before the introduction of Online-Accounts in Gnome 3. Even with my Nexus One (Android) Google Contacts is not working properly all the time.
Dunno. It works for me. I haven't used Evolution in awhile, but it synced with Google when I was using it, although I did add a plugin, can't remember the exact name of it now. On my Samsung Android phone, sync just works, never had a problem.
