Gnome monitor power setting
First off - this is my first ever post on these forums!
I've just installed Kubuntu over the weekend and also the Gnome desktop. I'm gonna go with the Gnome desktop, since I prefere it for a number of reasons.
I have noticed one thing about Gnome that drives me nuts however - KDE (and windows) do this the way I want, but Gnome doesn't seem to.
The problem is - I want to set my monitor to go to sleep after a certain amount of time. So far the Gnome desktop will only turn the screen black, but it's still on. Gnome and Windows actually put the monitor in sleep mode...the screen is turned off until I move the mouse.
Yes, I know I can turn off the
power button (obviously), so I don't need those type of suggestions. I just want to know if I can make Gnome do what I want - put the monitor into "sleep" mode and not fake it. Maybe even a downloadable utility if Gnome can't do this natively?
If it matters any, I am using Ubuntu/Kubuntu 7.04
Thanks~
