glxgears has really low fps

I have a dell laptop with an Intel GM965/GL960 graphics card, running Arch Linux with KDE.

I know that glxgears isn't a good benchmarking tool, but I am getting fps's in between 20 and 30 fps, which is about half of my refresh rate of 60 Hz. With vblank_mode=0 glxgears, I still only get about 40 to 50 fps.

Should I be concerned about that?

I hope this is in the right section.

It is a bit low.But for a built in chip that shares system ram ( and not a full 3d card)??
is the kernel mode set ?

Yes I have KMS enabled, and I did install xf86-video-intl
