by edit: I decided to 'purge' fslint and use fdupes instead. Mods may delete the following post if so desired.

I'm preparing to back up my /home. My whimsey was to do a file rationalization first; i.e., deep-six duplicate files. After installing and running FSlint, I went through the drill as per the gui, merrily deleting duplicate files line-by-line in my '~/Desktop/trash.desktop' folder; aka: '~/.local/share/Trash/files$'
Right. They are still in the '~/Desktop/trash.desktop' folder even though re-opening FSlint on '~/.local/share/Trash/files$' shows the duplicate files I selected and “Deleted” are no longer listed.
I don't know if it's a clue to the problem... a tiny window at the bottom of the application has info that looks fishy to me.
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/fslint/fslint/supprt/rmlint/merge_hardlinks", line 58, in <module>
path, dev, inode, size = line.rstrip().split(' ')

I'm hoping someone can explain why the duplicate files weren't deleted and help me figure out the right way to rationalize my Trash Folder.
