frame buffer screenshot

Hi *,
I need to do a screenshot of screen (frame buffer is used) from console. The problem is that I'm connected to the machine by terminal so I have two screens -- terminal screen on one machine and graphical output using frame buffer on another screen. How can I do the screenshot of the second screen?
Thanks for any hint.

I didn't properly understand the question, but I will attempt to answer.
I think what you are looking for is fbshot with this little program you can take screenshots of your framebuffer console. I don't remember but I thing the program is ready to use, you just put it somewhere, mine is in /sbin and then do:
Code:

/sbin/fbshot -c 2 /home/nameoffbshot.png
This will take a shot of the second console and save it to /home/nameoffbshot.png
I use it to take pictures of my bootsplash when booting.

Thanks for tip but I think this is not what I'm looking for. Let me explain a bit more: I have a MIPS device running Linux. This device have it's own screen (it's a phone). This device uses GUI and framebuffer for it. I connect to the device using tty so I have a control over the device. I want to make a screenshot of the phone's screen not a screenshot of the console. It would be fine to have some video memory dump if possible. Do we have some tool like this?
Thanks in advance.
