fluxbox quick start menu

I'm trying to figure out a way to replace Kmail in the launcher bar at the top of the fluxbox desktop with seamonkey email?

I have seamonkey configured with all my email accounts in KDE, and don't use KMail, so i'd like to have it in the menu of fluxbox?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Erm, not to appear overly dense here, but fluxbox is a minimal window manager that "normally" doesn't have a launcher bar at the top of a desktop, unless you have manually configured it to be there.

So, this concept is new to me. What I'd like to know is:

a)what distro are you using (helpful to give this info in all posts - or better yet, add it to your profile for all to see)?

b)what is this launcher bar you speaketh of? If you're not sure, the fluxbar configuration files are found in your home directory .fluxbox/* . The pertinent file should be startup, which will tell us what is being launched when fb launches.

c)if you are speaking of an entry in the fluxbox menu (when you click on the desktop, a menu appears which is populated with programs to launch, amongst other things.), then the menu file can be edited.

So, what I'm ultimately looking for is a bit more clarification and elaboration.

cheers,

What launcher bar do you mean? Is it some type of extra-gear or just the ordinary menu?

To change the menu, just open ~/.fluxbox/menu with your favourite editor. Then just replace kmail with seamonkey or make a new entry.

I'm dual booting ubuntu 8.04, and vector linux 5.9 soho.

I'm really new to linux in general, so I was just trying out all the session listed on the login screen of vector linux, and when I selected fluxbox it had a cool launcher bar thing at the top of it. I just assumed that it was normal for fluxbox.

My guess by reading your replies is that it is something that the folks at vector linux added into fluxbox with their distribution.

Knowing that i'm still an idiot in the linux world at this point all I can say is i'll try to get a screen shot of it for you all to see if you're not familiar with vector. That doesn't mean that I can do it, but I will try....lol.

Thanks for the replies!
