Firefox homepage hijacked by barnsandnoble.com

My FF homepage was hijacked by barnesandnoble.com. Is there any way to fix this?

I have tried, many times, to re-set my homepage, but it never sticks.

I've seen such things before. Do you happen to start FF with a certain parameter? That might be the problem. Don't know what DE or WM you're using, but check the shortcut in your menu editor. Does it also happens when you start firefox from the terminal?

trickykid: As I have already posted: I have tried, many times, to re-set my homepage, but it never sticks.

Zerthis: I do not start FF with a certain parameter. I am using xfwm4, but usually launch from a terminal, or from "run" on the menu. It also happens when I start firefox from the terminal.

and try

grep -R "barnesandnobles.com" ~/.mozilla

to see where the problem may be residing.

The really sly ones hide this by encoding in hex (i.e., %62%61%72...), so if the above doesn't work, you might try searching for the hex (note, there is more than one sly way to do this (e.g., every other character in hex or similar)).
