Question (fedora20) change Mate1.8.1 window-buttons, key-bindings for laptop

Hi Freinds,
I am having a little problem with my current look and feel of my Mate Desktop invironment, following are the problems.
some details that may be handy for reader
Distro: - fedora 20
Desktop environment :- Mate 1.8.1
Device : - laptop (dell inspiron 3542)

1) One thing is I don't like it's window button that is minimize and maximise buttons ound on top right corner, they keep on confusing me just some silly arrows, I want to have classic buttions in their place with small line ( for minimize) and box (for maximize). I tried to google on it, but I was not abe to get any thing good may be due to lack of appropriate search keywords. I guess changing theam my fix this so I tried ussing all the available themes, I believe from default install but those buttons were unchanged.

2) Othere problem that I have is with the key bindings, if you are laptop user you must be aware of the "Fn" key, kind of used to get extra functionality out of same key ( mostprobably function keys to increase brightnesss etc.).
Problem here is when I try to use default keyboard shortcuts for getting menu etc. for example I usually use alt+f1 to open menu(classic gnome 2 style)
on my lappy it doesn't work, all the function keys on my laptop has inverted their bindings. I mean they are doing all those things which I belive they shoud do when I use them with combination of "Fn" key. so If I want to get help normally I woud be using "F1" key, in my case I have to use "Fn"+"F1" to get the default functionality of F1 key.
What I want here is when I press F1 key it should provide me the functionality of F1 and should not mute or unmute volume ,and it must do the functionality of mute and unmute when I use "Fn"+"F1", please let me know where do I look for this.

This is my first time tweaking desktop settings, hope I am not asking any stupid questions.

Regards
