Fedora 10 Boot Problem

I'm running Fedora 10 virtualized through Hyper-V (long story). It's running some incredibly important things such as a production webserver and the MySQL database. I restarted it (and the host machine) earlier but now when I try to boot up, I get to the white "Fedora 10" and progress bar and it hangs. I plan to create a new linux VM and mount the old VHD as a non-boot device, but I would love to have a solution that doesn't involve that. Is this an issue with a fix? I found another thread mentioning this, but it seems that the guy was able to get through that eventually.

can you boot from rescue CD/DVD ?
after this, edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst and remove the quite words in the kernel lines
after this, when you bootup you will actually see what is happening.

Alternatively, if the hang is not too quick then just after grub loads, press <ESC> and you can see the booting
and check what is happening during the hang.
