Fedoa 19 Browse Network & Setting not working

I recently used Fedora-upgrade to convert Fed 18 to Fed 19. I did the upgrade on my desktop and laptop. On the laptop, everything appears to still be working fine, on the desktop I can no longer browse my network, the screen remains white, and the Settings option no longer works. I click on Settings and nothing happens.

how did you have the network configured before fedup?

is it NFS?
is it SAMBA?
is it other?

also how did you have the network shares mounting before? via fstab, autofs, or fstab combined with systemd?
