Trying to install ATI-drivers and enabling some smooth graphic is getting me crazy!
I have HP nx9420 laptop with (sadly) ATI Radeon x1600 gfx.
I have downloaded the driver from ati.com and followed their instructions.
ATI Catalyst Center works probably, but how can i see if the drivers are enabled and working?
Second, when i try to enable "Desktop Effects" in Gnome, the stupid SELinux pops up and blocks it. And Desktops Effects comes with the error "Desktop effects could not be enabled".
SELinux past:
If you trust /usr/lib/xorg/libGL.so.1.2 to run correctly, you can change the file context to textrel_shlib_t. "chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/xorg/libGL.so.1.2"
The following command will allow this access:chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/xorg/libGL.so.1.2
I
have tried "chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/xorg/libGL.so.1.2" but didn't help.
Well i figured Beryl maybe worked, but don't get any cube with ctrl+alt+arrow. Just the 4 windows to chose from. Like in Vista when you don't have the openGL. So don't my drivers work?
Second, when i go to "Emerald Theme Manager" how the h.... do i activate a theme?
I can only chose "Update", "Remove", "Import" and "Close".
I'm getting totally crazy and confused... please help me. /Beg
