FC5 start up: no x


when i first boot a computer i just installe FC 5 on, it asks me to login at a prompt rather than the normal gui logini am setting this computer for a customer soon, so i need to get this working. does anyone know how to get the computer to start x earlier?

Does the GUI run when you login to the text interface and run "startx"? If it does, then change the default runlevel in /etc/inittab from 3 to 5.

how do i do this? is it something like:
# vi /etc/inittab ?

Yes thats right. Change "id:3:initdefault:" to "id:5:initdefault:".

and it also does not supply the shutdown command by default, will this solve that problem as well?
