extend gnome3 desktop to screen with old video card (without triggering fallback mode)

After some tweaking I've been happily using gnome3 on a two monitor setup, both attached to the same video card.
I would like to add a third monitor for some of the more 'static' windows like my email client and music player. I'd be working mainly on my two big screens attached to the strong video card, but have a smaller screen mostly just displaying 'static' stuff.
For this purpose I've plugged in an old video card which I still had lying around and attached my smaller third monitor to it. I've configured it as a separated xscreen using nvidia-settings (both cards are nvidia cards)

Now whenever I try to start gnome3, it drops back to fallback mode, presumably because the old video card can't support the fancy gnome3 features.
Since I don't need any fancy features on this third monitor (I could even live with one desktop without any effects/overview).

I was wondering If it is possible to somehow have a stripped down desktop for the 3rd screen which would allow me to use the full features of gnome3 on my two bigger working screens?

I'm using debian wheezy which still uses gnome 3.4

what is this unknown OLD card ?

for example i have a antique Gforce2 mx 400 that is 12 years old
so old that there is NO support for it in the current Xorg

so old that i have to run a old version of xorg to use the driver for it

It is a GeForce 7300 GS.
Didn't think it was relevant, thought it was more of a general question if it would be possible to run a stripped down gnome3 or perhaps even another desktop environment on the other card while still running the full gnome3 on my good card and main screens.

But I guess I should have added it, never hurts to have more info

Also, just to make it clear, The card is too old (or at least I assume that is the reason) to run the fancy new gnome3 features. I can use it in fallback mode or with other desktop environments like xfce.

thx for the reply

the 7000 cards are using the legacy 304 nvidia driver
if your new card is using the new 325 driver

then there is no driver installed for the legacy 7000 card

32 bit 304

all *nix drivers

Using the 304 (64 bits) now. I noticed the newer ones don't support it and since the 304 is the default in the debian wheezy repo (which I am currently running) I decided to go for that one. like I said, I can run more minimal desktop environments like XFCE with a three monitor setup (2 main screens on good card, 1 smaller on the 7300 GS)
